Aiding Flood Affected Families
In the year 2022, catastrophic floods affected one-third of Pakistan’s lands. In those challenging times, our team did not leave any stone unturned.
We conducted about 8 flood relief activities and donated food, tents, mosquito nets, medicines, mineral water and clothes to the flood victims of Sindh.
Helping The Community
Winter Essentials Distributed in Sindh and adjoining Areas
Survival without winter clothes is hard for slum dwellers. In 2020, our team came up with the idea of distributing winter quilts, jackets and sportwear to the people living in the interior Sindh and the suburbs of Karachi. Alhamdulillah for the past three years we have distributed more than 1500 winter essentials in more than 10 areas.
Solving the Water Crises
To curb the water crises, AWS took a step to bore wells in the regions short of water supply, in Sindh and adjoining areas. We have successfully dug 54 wells till now and more are in the pipeline. Most of the wells exist next to the Mosques, Schools and Madrasa to ease the difficulties of worshippers and students.
Distribution of Baby Carriers
It is highly inconvenient to carry a baby in the arms while sitting on a bike or walking on a busy street. To make bike travel easier and safer for the family, our team distributed baby carriers with belt to parents who regularly travel on bikes in Karachi.
Food and Ration Distribution
A continuous rise in inflation rate has made basic food consumption a difficult choice for the impoverished. We have supplied 35000 ration packages, each weighing 26 kg, to those residing in the slum areas of Karachi.
Provision of Loan and Zakat
We provide short-term loans and Zakat after examining each case thoroughly. These loans and Zakat funds are specific to the situation and need of the person approaching us.
Helping Muslims in Turkey and Palestine
Following the tragic incident of 2023 Turkey Earthquakes, our chairman decided to join hands with the Bait-us-Salam Welfare Trust to provide monetary support to the earthquake victims of Turkey and the Muslim brothers of Palestine. We sent a total of Rs. 6 lakhs to the organization.
Supporting Marriages
We support families which cannot afford to meet the basic expenses of holding a wedding ceremony. We have reached out to 50+ families and provided adequate cash to meet the marriage related expenses easily. We also financed the wedding ceremonies of 25 Muslim couples who converted to Islam recently in the province of Sindh.
Masjid-e-Muqam-e-Mehmood Provides Free Marriage Venue
Our Masjid Muqam-e-Mehmood situated in Karachi, Pak Colony, has offered its venue for free to organize Nikah and wedding ceremony of those in need. Free food is also served to all the guests attending the ceremony. Our chairman, Mr. Syed Zohair Ahmed, always encourages to make marriages easier and simpler for families so that it does not become a burden for anyone.
125 Legal Cases Resolved
In collaboration with the Muhammad Ali Abbas Legal Aid, we provided legal and financial support to 125 people who could not afford the services of a lawyer or faced difficulty in carrying out a legal proceeding in any court come to us for help. Our services are specifically in the areas of Civil and Criminal Law.
Deepening Connections with the Old-Aged Homeless Elderly
Our chairman Mr. Hakeem Syed Zohair Ahmed pays frequent visits to the old age homes in Karachi with his team. He personally presents gifts to the residents of the old age homes and spends quality time with them, which adds a smile to their gloomy faces. AWS has been regularly in touch with many old age homes in Karachi namely Anmol Zindagi, Al-Zaeef, and Gills Shelter Home since the beginning.
Donation of Bicycles to Students
Twenty-Four students of Faiz-e-Mushtaq Education Foundation won bicycles on the completion of a 40-day Salah challenge. The students who prayed five times daily prayers for 40 days in congregation in the masjid won the challenge and were given an award by our chairman Mr. Hakeem Syed Zohair Ahmed.
Enabling Free Education through Scholarships
We have been providing funds to our educational institute, Faiz-e-Mushtaq Education Foundation in Karachi, in the form of need- based scholarships and Zakat funds. We have provided zakat funds to more than 400 students in the past five years.
